Truck Spreaders vs. Pull Spreaders

Traditionally, the choice between a truck spreader and a pull spreader was made based on a variety of factors such as type of farming, geographic location, past preferences, and current factors such as a recent purchase of a tractor. Pull spreaders are favored by farmers who have recently purchased a tractor because it allows them to make the most of their investment while negating the need to maintain and insure another piece of equipment with a motor.

However, at BBI, we encourage customers to make the decision of truck spreader versus pull spreader based on the end destination of the spreader. If you are in the application business or often need to transport your spreader to various locations, a truck spreader is the ideal option. A truck spreader is easier and safer to move long distances than large tractors and equipment.

Conversely, if your spreader will remain primarily at one location, then a pull spreader will suit your needs.
