BBI NewsAgriculture Spreader Equipment Prices on the RiseWednesday May 28, 2008With escalating material costs and recent price increases in the construction equipment industry, it seems price increases are also imminent in the world of agriculture. Spreader equipment prices are contingent on the cost of raw materials such as carbon steel, which has more than tripled in the past 12 months due to global and domestic demand. And with domestic steel production being at an all time low, there is no relief in site. Price hikes in construction equipment have ranged from 5-10%, and agriculture manufacturers anticipate increases of 7-11%. Even with the imminent price increases on agriculture spreaders and other equipment, demand for new machinery is outpacing supply. Equipment availability is limited in some cases, and some dealers are reporting shortages. At BBI, we're doing everything we can to keep up the supply of agriculture spreaders and limit shortages. If you plan on buying spreader equipment in the near future, we recommend you contact your dealer in advanced to verify availability. [ Back to News ] |
